ace: What I picture when people say "I don't swing that way":
So, the heterosexuals are on the swingset, swinging back and forth like most people do.
And then there are the homosexuals swinging, like, side to side or something.
The bisexuals are sort of alternating between the two, and the pansexuals are just twisting their swing up in a knot and crashing…

What happened when I came out to my mom…
So this happened a month or so back but I thought I’d add it anyway since it seemed like such a good story :)
So sometime in my coming-outness this conversation came up:
Mom: I had a friend once who was asexual! We met in the service (my mum was in the Army)
Me: How did that go? I mean, still friends?
Mom: I haven’t seen her since I was in the Army but she was pretty cool. She and I and a different friend of mine where really tight back then… Interesting story about that, actually…
Me: Do tell.
Mom: Well she was asexual and he was gay. Back then there were only a few ways to get out of military service immediately and permanently; one was you just had to tell your commanding officer that you were gay. So anyway just the three of us knew and he had these super close-minded but filthy-rich parents who had this dream of watching their son marry the perfect girl. They told him he had a year to get married to a good woman or they would cut him off entirely. So he decided to marry my asexual friend! He would get to keep his money and his family, she was happy she got to live with a good friend and help him out, and both where happy they didn’t have to sleep together. He was free to see whoever he wanted and they went shopping together because he had the best fashion sense and even though they weren’t “in love” they were the cutest couple EVER.
Me:…..
Mom:…..
Me:…..
Mom:…..
Me: You had the coolest friends!!!!!

Da fuq?
if you are under 18 you are not gay/bi/asexual/trans GET UR FACTS RIGHT
Excuse me?
If someone under the age of 18 feels like their gender doesn’t match their body they are trans or genderqueer or bigender or agender or whatever they feel like.
Most women begin puberty at around 13 and men at 15 or 16. So if someone feels sexually attracted to someone of the same gender, it’s valid. If someone feels sexual attraction towards the opposite sex, it’s valid. If they feel any attraction to anyone it’s valid, no matter what the age.
I myself am repulsed at the thought of sex. I’ve never felt sexual attraction towards anyone ever. If anyone tried to have sex with me I would run away or beat the shit out of them. Being physically intimate with anyone or even the thought of it makes me uncomfortable and terrified. I’d say that makes me rather asexual, although I am a repulsed asexual and this is just my experience. But even so, it’s valid.
So who the hell are you to question someone’s identity? You don’t know what they feel just like I don’t know what you feel. I don’t question the validity of other people’s identity; no one should.
THIS HAS BEEN A POST.

Day 18
Why you made your blog, why you still have it
I made my blog to post about politics, economics, libertarianism, and philosophy. I still have my blog because of all the amazing and intelligent bloggers here and to continue to post about the aforementioned subjects as well as asexuality, aromanticism, and QUILTBAG rights and visibility :)

That is quite a burden you must bear, young one, and I admire you for your bravery!
Nonetheless, patience is the key with such things. I am aware of what you might think in response this.
“Thor! What could you possibly know of the virtue of patience?”
While I myself do not have a reputation for patience or subtlety, or all of the things my brother finds more skill in, I know of its merits with such a sensitive topic.
It is essential that you never succumb to societal pressures — who you feel is deserving of your affections is entirely dependent upon yourself! Be they male, female, or anything in between; that is irrelevant in the pursuit of love and passion!
No matter what your family might say, never forsake who you are or what brings you joy in this lifetime. That is a gross disservice to yourself!

^THIS. Just asdfghjkl; words cannot express how happy this makes me feel. The answer addressed all the sexual/romantic/gender orientations at once and AHH the feels :D <3

What the actual fuck?
brb becoming asexual
This.
This is the equivalent of me saying “brb becoming a ladder”
Because people can do that now; they can change who they are at their core.
So yep, I’m leaving to become a ladder. Because god knows how much it sucks when all those stairs and step stools try to hit an me…

Aromantic Challenge Days 4 through 15
Since I haven’t been on consistently at all so I guess I’ll just finish it up
Day 4: Have you ever been/are you in a romantic relationship?
Nope! Never have been and never will be, as far as I’m concerned :)
Day 5: Would you consider being in a romantic relationship, or if you have, in another?
No, because I think life would be a lot simpler without romance and I’ve got enough on my plate without having to worry about a relationship
Day 6: Are you more of a planner or a fly by the seat of your pants kind of person?
I’m definitely more of a planner which is weird considering I have such spontanious friends XD
Day 7: Do you like physical affection? If so what kind? (hugging/cuddling/holding hands/kissing/etc.)
Hmm I guess I’m weird when it comes to this because I don’t like cuddling or kissing at all, and there is only one or two people that I wouldn’t mind holding hands with or hugging. I don’t particularly desire it but I don’t mind it at all from them… So I don’t know whether that makes me demisensual or just weird…?
Day 8: How do you feel about children? Do you want/have children?
Ah well, I’m also a repulsed asexual so I don’t want to have any kids myself plus I’m too cheap and impatient with kids to want to adopt any.
Day 9: What are some of your hobbies?
Watching/reading SciFi, fantasy, mysteries, Ayn Rand, economics, politics, or superhero stuff. i also like knitting, woodworking, and latch-hooking
Day 10: If you’re involved in fandoms, do you/how do you ship? (gen fic, romantic ships, friendships, queerplatonic ships, etc.)
There are only two fandoms that I’m really into now, which are Common Law and The Avengers.
Common Law is this awesome new show on channel USA about two detectives that are partners but have major issues getting along. I ship them as friends and as queerplatonic partners.
No need to tell anyone here what the Avengers is so I’ll just say that I ship Tony and Steve (Iron Man and Captain America) as friends and as queerplatonic partners :D
Day 11: What’s your favorite fictional friendship?
Francisco d’Anconia and Hank Rearden from Atlas Shrugged because they are awesome and what I’d want in a queerplatonic relationship <3
Day 12: Who is your favorite aromantic character?
I consider Sherlock Holmes to be aromantic so he’d be at the top of my list but my other favorite (and also the only other one I can think of; we really need more) would be an OC I created who’s particularly bad-ass :)
Day 13: What is your ideal job/career?
An economist like Thomas Sowell or Friedrich Hayek or Adam Smith… Or a fine-woodworker
Day 14: What is your favorite aromantic song?
Kick-Ass by Mika, from the movie Kick-Ass. Words cannot describe how much I love this man’s voice and his music. Seriously, give this a listen :D <3
Day 15: What do you like about being aromantic? What do you dislike?
I like pretty much everything about being aromantic, especially being able to say I love being single when all my friends are having relationship issues. The only part I dislike is the trolling and being told by people that it’s just because I can’t get anyone XP Other than that it’s cool though :)

Reblog if you think the next disney prince should be GAY.

4 million and counting
5 million
This should get to 10 million, come on people.
So close to 6
Or princess. Or both. Prince and Princess meet, have awesome adventure, get together with other people, if at all.
It would be so great… I love how the meme is of El Dorado. which most people think is Disney, and was supposed to have a gay couple :D

30 Day Asexuality Challenge: Days 26 to 30 :)
Day 26: Who is your biggest ally?
My biggest ally would be my friends Anie and LaChelle and FunSocks from AVEN, as we’ve actually met and they’re just overall awesomeness :) <3
Day 27: What is your favorite type of cake?
Cheesecake, hands-down. It’s just so… skjghs;lkghesrskdfbkdbr.tja;svd. Yep. Just like that. I also really like marble and chocolate cake as well
Day 28: What is your favorite type of pie? (Or, is pie an acceptable replacement for cake?)
I’d have to say pumpkin pie because it manages to taste awesome without all that sugar. And yes I do think that it’s an acceptable replacement for cake because I can’t usually eat cake, and I know that there are others who can’t eat it as well, as sad as that is T-T
Day 29: Where did you first learn about asexuality?
Sherlock! The new one, the BBC Sherlock. Therefore I do not ship him with John. EVER. Well that’s also because I consider him an aro-ace instead of just an ace, but yeah, he’s awesome. He’s what showed me that there are others out there like me and that I’m normal <—end cheesiness XP
Day 30: Tell us anything about asexuality that you want to end with.
I love being an ace! By I love it I mean that I love who it makes me as an individual but I certainly do not love the hate. HATE IS BAD. So I guess my ending word would be that yeah, we get hate. We have to take shit all the time, even if it’s not as prevalent as LBGT oppression. So don’t demean us or what we go though.
:O I can’t believe that’s actually the end! Well, it was fun to do and now I might just have to start the aro one… Until next time :) <3

30 Day Asexuality Challenge: Day 24 and 25
Day 24: Write something or post a picture about asexuality that upsets you.
What bothers me about asexuality is how little recognition we get, even from LBGTs sometimes. I mean, we could go all-out with pride and wear clothes that are only the colors of our flag and wear the ring and eat nothing but cake, but then we’d be told that we’re showing off or trying to oppress/be superior to sexuals and force our orientation on others. But if we don’t show pride regularly then people don’t know we’re here. It’s very frustrating XP
Day 25:What is the worst argument you’ve heard against asexuality?
That we were all abused when we were young. It’s just general bullshit. RAWR.
